2025 ANIM8 VIRTUAL STUDENT FILM FESTIVAL
After Hours Film Society presents Anim8, its 22nd annual student film festival. The virtual program enables access to film lovers around the world who want to see this exciting compilation of films.
Sixty-nine students from ten countries competed for awards this year and the entries were stellar! Twenty-one submissions made it to the top and they are at the heart of the festival. What you’ll see is the creative work of students from middle through graduate school – what you’ll get is an insightful and intimate look at the issues they are facing: themes like discovering love, finding acceptance, overcoming fear, and dealing with loss – it is all here!

Anim8 Student Film Festival
The After Hours Film Society invites all students to participate in "Anim8," our 23rd annual student film festival. To comply, entrants must be students and must submit completed animation or experimental films with running times of 8 minutes or less for consideration. All submissions will be judged by film professionals and educators who have a knowledge of and respect for creativity, originality, ambition, and determination. Winning entries will be presented in a virtual program in November 2026. Generous cash prizes will be awarded to the Best of Show, Awards of Excellence, and Merit award recipients.
