After Hours Film Society's Student Film Festival

WATCH ANIM8 FILM FESTIVAL NOW

This year, we are coming to you virtually, not only to ensure your safety, but also to enable access to everyone who wants to see this exciting compilation of films. 


Eighty animated entries of 8 minutes or less from 16 countries around the world were received and evaluated by our panel of accomplished judges. The festival's top selections are featured in this special program.

A cyborg named Scott is looking for the perfect gift for a loved one, but not all is well in this futuristic city when he finds his own picture on a wanted poster....
 “The Winter” by Xin Li 
Award of Excellence | Graduate | Melbourne, Victoria, Australia | Running Time: 5 Mins. 
Walking in a snowy forest, a peasant follows a radiant deer with the intensions of capturing it.

 “The Hunt” by Ryan Jogi 
Award of Excellence | Undergraduate | Paris, France | Running Time: 4 Mins. 
In a village in Africa, a huntress is chosen by three sorcerers in order to kill a beast living in the area. The hunt leads her to its shelter where she makes a terrible discovery.
“Wavy Head” by Max Shoham 
Award of Excellence | High School | Toronto, Ontario, Canada | Running Time: 5 Mins. 
A documentary that started as an investigation of a life-changing surgerical procedure evolved into an exploration of what might have been if the surgery had never been performed.

Defining the roles of a husband and wife becomes easier when magical kitchen appliances intervene and provide the answer for a peaceful and sweet life.
“The Rotation” by Hazhir As'adi 
Award of Distinction | Graduate | Tehran, Iran | Running Time: 7 Mins. 
Fighting for ownership of the sun in the sky, two ancient tribes annihilate it and cause a vol-canic eruption. Centuries pass, the sun reemerges and the humans are still at war trying to claim the sun in the sky.
